Our goal at the Emergency Animal Hospital of Northwest Austin is to serve our referring veterinarians by supporting and extending the care that they provide to your pet. We are a complete veterinary hospital that serves as an after-hours emergency vet clinic, capable of treating a variety of dog and cat symptoms. If your pet needs continued care after spending the day with your regular veterinarian or needs urgent treatment, our after-hours vet is here for you. As part of our commitment to you and your pet's continued recovery, we will provide your regular veterinarian with complete medical records after your visit to our hospital. We understand that your pet is an important member of your family and deserves the best possible medical care. Our weekend and after hours veterinarians will provide care for your pet in our emergency animal hospital with the same dedication and care that of your regular veterinary hospital.
Referrals clients are transferred directly to our after-hours veterinary hospital by their regular veterinarian for continued care or special procedures. The exam fee, called a referral exam fee, is reduced because your pet has been under the veterinary care of the referring veterinarian. In order to quality for a referral exam fee, we require a referral document that has been completed by your regular attending veterinarian, as well as medical information that pertains to your pet's condition or circumstance such as test results and medical records. For treatment of your cat or dog's symptoms your pet must come directly from your family veterinarian.
At our Emergency Animal Hospital of Northwest Austin, your pet will be examined by one of our veterinarians. One of our weekend and after-hours veterinarians will explain the details of overnight care, planned treatments and cost of the veterinary care. All of our pets are accommodated in comfortable cages that can be viewed from the treatment area. Pets that need isolation or privacy are accommodated in a separate ward to prevent the spread of diseases such as parvo virus and upper respiratory disease. The goal of our emergency vet clinic is to provide each pet with personalized and compassionate care. Each after hours vet will provide the best possible veterinary care and share all information regarding the pet's stay with their regular veterinarian.
During the week, both of our Austin North and Austin South hospitals close at 7:00 a.m. We ask that pet owners arrive by 6:30 a.m. to allow time to meet with the attending veterinarian and review any discharge instructions. We are open 24 hours during the weekend at the north veterinary hospital and open at 1:00 p.m. at our south hospital.
Our emergency animal hospital is always open when a pet needs us most. And with conveniently located hospitals we are close enough to wherever a pet happens to be in the Austin area that they can receive treatment as quickly as possible.
