Dr. Olivares

Dr. Olivares at Emergency Animal Hospital of NW AustinDr. Olivares is the newest member of our team here at EAHNWA. He graduated with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine, a Masters of Wildlife Science and a BS in Biomedical Science, all from Texas A&M University. His work with animals began in Dallas, where he practiced his craft for a number of years before moving to Austin in September of 2014 to join the EAHNWA staff. He is involved in organizations like VECCS and TVMA, and also has interests in endoscopy and internal medicine. Those interests help him provide more comprehensive care to all the animals he treats, and provide him with the insight needed to make quick diagnosis and get an animal treated fast, providing the best possible outcome.

His dedication to animals comes through in everything he does, from the time he arrives at the clinic until he heads home after a long shift. During the clinic hours of 4pm to 7am during the week and around the clock on the weekend, one can often find Dr. Olivares here, treating cats, dogs, and other animals with the utmost of care. His desire to help them can be felt by the animals, their owners, and the staff here at EAHNWA. It is a large part of what makes him such a valuable and important member of our team. After-hours care is vital for pets, and Dr. Olivares wants to make sure they all get needed help.

While Dr. Olivares is serious about his work when he is at EAHNWA taking care of animals, he also enjoys some downtime to pursue other interests. Working in an emergency animal hospital can be stressful, and Dr. Olivares knows that he can give his best to the animals and their owners when he is properly rested and focused. Having time for hobbies and other interests is a part of that. His hobbies include following Texas Aggie football and other sports, spending time in the outdoors, and traveling when he can. He shares a home, three dogs, and two cats with his wife, Tammy, and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
