Dr. Stacy Simmonds graduated from Texas A&M in 2007 with her DVM. Her internship was at Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus, NJ, and her emergency and critical care residency were completed at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston, MA. Dr. Simmonds achieved diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in 2011. Before joining EAHNWA, Dr. Simmonds worked at a multi-specialty practice in Dallas, TX. Dr. Simmonds enjoys the variety of patients that emergency and critical care brings. Before attending veterinary school, she practiced human nursing, mostly in the emergency department, and worked in clinical trials for drug development in Austin, TX. Dr. Simmonds’ research, a case report regarding trauma in a dog (Nonsurgical pneumoperitoneum), was published in the October issue of JVECC in 2011. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, sports, photography, and spending time with her family and her 2 dogs.
