Shelters across the country are continuing to feel the stress of Hurricane Harvey. Displaced, abandoned, and injured animals from the coastal area of Rockport/Fulton are being cared for by local shelters as well other Texas veterinarians and shelters. So many people have volunteered and opened their doors, hearts and pocketbooks to those in need and their pets that it makes us once again proud to be Texans. As our beautiful coastal communities push to rebuild their homes and businesses, the need for out-of-area donations becomes more critical.
Our clients are always asking for ways to help these animal survivors. There are many different shelters and groups involved and all are in need of help in the form of supplies and financial donations. WAGS Hope and Healing is still funneling supplies and assistance and the Emergency Animal Hospital/Central Texas Veterinary Specialty Hospital was pleased to donate a truckload of crates that were transported to Victoria, Texas.
As time passes and life happens around us, we need to be reminded that there are still Harvey animals that need our help. Below are a couple of web addresses where anyone can see what is needed and donate to help this cause. There is still a lot to do and every single dime helps.
