Working with you and your family veterinarian...

Our goal is to serve our referring veterians by supporting and extending the care that can be provided for your pet.  Whether your pet needs continued care after spending the day with your regular veterinarian or needs treatment after hours, your regular veterinarian will receive complete medical records after each visit to our hospital.  We understand that your pet is an important member of your family and deserves the best possible medical care.

What is a referral patient?

Referrals clients are sent directly from the regular veterinarian to our hospital for continued care or special proceedures.  Because your pet has been under the direct care of a veterinarian, the exam fee (called a referral exam fee) is reduced.  For a reduced exam fee, our hospitals require a referral document that is completed by the regular attending veterinarian and any additional information that pertains to your pet such as test results and medical records.  Your pet must come directly from your family veterinarian.

At our hospital, your referral pet will be examined by a veterinarian.  The veterinarian will discuss with you the details overnight care, treatments and cost of care.  All of our patients stay in comfortable cages that are visible from the treatment area and patients needing isolation are kept in a seperate ward to prevent the spread of diseases such as parvo virus and upper respiratory disease.

During the week, both of our hospitals close at 7:00 AM.  We recommend arriving by 6:30 to allow time to meet with the attending veterinarian and review discharge instructions.  We are open 24 hours during the weekend at the north hospital and open at 1:00PM south.
