The Austin Humane Society offers a pet loss support group for anyone that is experiencing or anticipating the loss of their pet companion. The group offers an environment of caring, compassion and understanding for those who are grieving the loss of a cherished member of their family. The pet loss group is open to the community, free of charge, and meets the last Monday of every month from 7 PM to 8:30 PM in the small group meeting room at the Austin Humane Society. The group is facilitated by Elizabeth Warren, a registered veterinary technician and long time volunteer of AHS.

Emergency Care
Emergency care involves stabilizing the patient and may include placing intravenous catheters, administering IV fluids, pain medications, oxygen therapy and sometimes blood or plasma transfusions. Our in-house laboratory, radiology and ultrasound capabilities enable us to get crucial diagnostic information very quickly. Our Blood Bank program guarantees that our canine and feline patients have access to a safe and adequate blood supply. Additional surgeons and technical staff are available should the need arise.
